TRENDS 2025: A LOOK INTO THE FUTURE
This is a topic I often address, a message I love to repeat: at Grungemama, we do not follow trends or fashions, we wear what we love. This is a reality that defines the identity of Grungemama. However, as you know, I am passionate and love to be inspired. Every year, I watch the fashion shows to better understand what will shape tomorrow's fashion and to allow myself to evolve, because the world of fashion is in constant change, adapting to the needs and desires of our society. Here is my selection of what I want to remember from the 2025 trends.
BOHO CHIC, THE RETURN OF THE 2000s
A trend that emerged in the 2000s, with icons like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. This style has never left me. It is synonymous with an empowered, powerful, and natural femininity, where we play with materials, transparency, and details. The MIRANDA skirt responds to this trend, perfect to pair with a shirt or a t-shirt. One rule: embrace the ruffles, you are queens, never forget that. Another characteristic found in the boho chic trend: fringes. They bring that wild touch that makes the difference. We use and abuse them, we want them everywhere. At Grungemama, you can find them on the poncho XIOMARA, a key piece of this season that dethrones the cape, but also on the VICTORIA bag and the WILD sneakers.
WORKWEAR, ALREADY POPULAR LAST YEAR AND STILL IN VOGUE
It dominated the runways again this year, workwear has a place in your closets. Inspired by the clothing of manual laborers, this style requires boldness and self-confidence, while prioritizing comfort. A key piece to adopt: the Banditas LUCIANO blue jumpsuit. Don’t hesitate to feminize it with heels, jewelry, and a clutch under your arm. You will also soon see the denim cargo OMIZA and the FLYER ribbed sweater, both of which also embrace this trend.
INDIE SLEAZE
Another trend from the 2000s, inspired by punk and new wave, is also making a big comeback. This trend is an integral part of the Grungemama DNA. Popularized by Kate Moss (yes, her again) and Alexa Chung, it highlights the strong connection between fashion and music. It was a time before social media arrived, when vinyl records and Myspace messaging got along well, a time when we dreamed...
THE GIRL BOSS, OR HOW TO BE INSPIRED BY YVES SAINT LAURENT
Almost a tribute to this god of fashion and his timeless style, we adopt the full suit look to embody the girl boss. Whether at the office or at a party, I adore this garment which, as I mentioned recently, has magical powers. Try the TYLER set on those difficult mornings, and it changes everything. Impeccable material and cut are the key to a chic, not cheap, look. You can also prefer the ROMY suits or the DETROIT one. Awaken the girl boss inside you.
ATHLEISURE, COMFORTABLE BUT NOT ONLY
I love the idea of wearing my jacket and joggers outside the gym. An urban and ultra-comfortable style for this trend. A small historical point: athleisure appeared in the 80s with aerobics and iconic pieces associated with it. Today, it is reinterpreted, but still with the idea of comfort and a good dose of style. The perfect combinations for this look: the ZITA leggings, the HARRY jacket in green or red, with the black ROMY pants. To complete the look, add a headpiece, such as the GRUNGEMAMA cap or the C beanie.
THE ROMANTICA, ROMANTIC
How happy I was to see lace, blouses, and puffed sleeves return. I think these pieces always bring a romantic touch, a bit of seduction. I like the idea of a garment that speaks for itself and sometimes shows perhaps a bit more vulnerability. Because it's okay to play with our personalities, and I love playing the romantic. For this trend, I selected the NELSON shirt, the NELLA shirt, and the MAISY dress.
All the 2025 trends to adopt this year. I hope you like it! I sincerely hope that over the years Grungemama has enriched your wardrobe and provided you with ideas to explore, because I am convinced that Grungemama is more than just a clothing brand, it is a community. See you soon for the next topic.
